Cricket Odds Explained for KKFB Readers
Quick Summary
- Cricket odds work like any other decimal price: stake times odds is your total return.
- Test cricket has three outcomes, while T20 usually has two, so the sums differ.
- The sportsbook margin means implied chances add up to more than 100 per cent.
- All numbers on this page are teaching examples, not live prices or tips.
Cricket odds are not harder than football odds, but the formats make them feel strange. A twenty-over game has two outcomes, a Test has three, and some matches end in a tie or no result. In this guide we walk through the sums with small Taka examples. We are an independent guide, not KKFB, so live prices are on its sportsbook, and every number here is only for teaching.
Two-way and three-way prices
In a limited-overs match you usually bet on one of two sides, and a tie or no result is treated by the rules of the market. In a Test, there are three outcomes: either side wins or the match is drawn. A draw price is often the surprising one, because it can be quite low in matches affected by weather.
Read the market title for the exact outcome list. If a draw is possible, a bet on a team to win does not pay on a draw.
Worked example in Taka
Say a sportsbook shows 1.80 for Team A and 2.10 for Team B in a short match. A stake of ৳200 at 1.80 returns ৳360 in total if it wins, which is ৳160 profit. At 2.10, the same stake returns ৳420, which is ৳220 profit. The implied chances are about 55.6 and 47.6 per cent, adding to 103.2. That extra 3.2 is the margin.
| Price | Stake | Total return | Implied chance |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.80 | ৳200 | ৳360 | about 55.6% |
| 2.10 | ৳200 | ৳420 | about 47.6% |
Totals and player markets
Totals ask if runs in a match, innings or over exceed a number. Player markets ask about a batter's runs or a bowler's wickets. In both cases, the line is set so that over and under are close to even in the sportsbook's opinion. The best way to think about a line is as a midpoint: it is the number you are guessing around, not a promise.
What to do with this knowledge
Knowing how odds work makes you a calmer bettor, not a winning one. You will spot when a price is bigger than a chance deserves, and when a bet is simply too thin for you. In three steps
Reading a cricket price in 3 steps
- 1Find the outcomes
Check whether the market has two or three outcomes and how ties are treated.
- 2Do the sums
Multiply your stake by the odds, and divide 1 by the odds for the implied chance.
- 3Compare with your budget
Ask whether you can accept losing the stake, then decide.

Your questions
Why is the draw price important in Test cricket?
Because a draw is a real outcome in Tests, and a bet on a team to win loses on a draw. The draw price shows how likely the sportsbook thinks it is.
What is a tie in cricket betting?
A tie means both teams finish with equal runs. Some markets treat it as a separate outcome, others void or settle bets in other ways. Read the rules for the market.
How do I work out profit?
Subtract your stake from the total return. At 2.50 with a ৳100 stake, the return is ৳250 and the profit is ৳150.
Are the prices on this page real?
No. They are examples to show the sums. Live prices are on KKFB's sportsbook and can change.
Why do two sportsbooks show different odds?
Each sets its own view and margin. Neither is automatically right, and prices can differ on the same match.
